with NASA at centers across the United States. We have an exciting
opportunity for a Aerosciences Tools Engineer to join the team with
Aerodyne.The Aerosciences Tools Engineer will:
- Develop and evaluate Rarefied Gas Dynamics (RGD) software
tools.
- Apply knowledge of Message Passing Interface (MPI) coding
standards
- Utilize Fortran and C/C++ skills to model and analyze RGD
- Enhance and utilize NASA's Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC)
Analysis Code (DAC)
- Enhance and utilize RGD and CFD simulation tools
- Perform deep dive analyses
- Perform other duties as required.Resumes, in month and year

Job Requirements: This position has been posted at multiple levels.
Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business

- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a
minimum of 1 year of experience in the field or in a related
area.
- BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school
and five (5) years of direct engineering experience, or an MS
degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of
direct engineering experience, or a Ph.D.
- Experience developing parallel processing applications in
Fortran or C
- Experience with running parallel simulations using High
Performance Computers
- Expertise in CFD methods and techniques for fully viscous
flows
- Expertise in iterative computational mesh (grid) development
and refinement based on flow field solution quality
- Experience developing engineering level models based on CFD and
flight or wind-tunnel data
- Experience with aerodynamic and/or aerothermodynamic
engineering methods/techniques/models
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a
team environment consisting of NASA civil servants and various
contractor employees. Requisition Preferences:
- MS or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Minor or more in Computer Science
- Experience in aero or aerothermal database development and
usage, efficiently interpolating from a multi-dimensional database
of point solutions to generate environments along a trajectory Why
