Job Description:
A company is looking for a Prior Authorization Specialist I to
manage prior authorization requests and coordinate financial
clearance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Process and prioritize incoming prior authorization requests
according to departmental guidelines
Collaborate with patients, providers, and departments to obtain
necessary information for financial clearance
Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and ensure compliance
with authorization processes
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or higher
preferred
3-5 years of experience in a high-volume data entry office,
customer service call center, or healthcare administration
Experience with insurance verification, prior authorization, and
financial clearance processes
Familiarity with insurance payer websites and medical
terminology
Knowledge of Epic and proficiency in Microsoft Suite
applications
